I don't get as much photography practice as I'd like, but I try not to stress about it. I know that this busy time in our lives is just for a season and that one day, hopefully not too long from now, lol, I will have more time to 'play' and practice my photography.
For now, I catch moments when I can.
Today one of my twins was sitting with me as I was here working at the computer. I looked at her and noticed the 'catchlights' in her eyes so I grabbed the camera and asked her if she'd mind me practicing head shots right then and there. She's always an eager model for me, the only one of the five kids. LOL The rest don't care to have their photo taken much. lol Neither do their mom or dad though, so I guess they get that honestly.
I have two lenses good for portraits and wanted to practice with both, quite a difference between them. While the second photo seems a little more flattering in color etc. (this is the lense that came with the camera), I like the detail and truer color in the first one better. I feel in this first photo, it's as close to having my daughter right here as I believe I could ever get with a camera. True color, real life.

More flattering color, but just not the same 'real' quality I love about the above photo.

I 'might' also love the top photo because she looks like a little girl? This other one, she looks much too old for her mama's liking! LOL She is my 'baby' (well, one of them, since she is a twin lol). My 'baby' shouldn't be looking so grown up!
