Can you believe it? The sellers of the 100 acre farm that we have the offer in on, have not only agreed to extend our offer yet again, untill the end of September, but they have also agreed to a 10,000.00 drop in our offer! We told our realtor working for us on behalf of that farm, that we were needing to drop 40,000.00 to try and get our place sold before winter, and to please ask if the sellers would consider a 10,000.00 drop to help ease that 'pain' a little. They said yes!
This whole transaction with these people has been so wonderful. They are Christians as well (they belong to a church that dh's cousin and wife attend) and I just hope this is God's way of wanting to truly bless both our families. This family built the addition to the main old farm house over 30 years ago and have been the only family living in it all this time. I really love the idea of buying a home that hasn't been sold over and over again in the past years. I love that it's a family home. I've also loved that the family is Dutch (I'm Dutch, was born in Holland).
So anywho, that's our good news.
I vented about our realtors attitude the other day, but, with that attitude from her, God did convict me of something. He reminded me that if I truly believe, that not all things worth having come easy, then why have I spent so much time complaining these last months? If I believe it's of Him, and I believe it's worthwhile in the end, then I need to stop whinning so much and start fighting for what I believe and get on my knees in more urgent prayers.
Ouch.
See, the God I know doesn't make things all nice and rosey and easy for me. Maybe sometimes He does, but most often He likes to see me grow and become stronger through it all.
Anywho, enough rambling. I just wanted to share our excitement. The new realtor comes on Saturday morning to come check the place out and tell us what he thinks. If all goes well, he'll be signed on at that time with the hopes that he can sell the place within 32 days. We've got a lot of work to do between now and then. With minimal showings these past 6 months, we've become a little lax around here.... lol
