Might be nice to post once in a while, eh?

LOL I thought it might be nice to actually post on this thing.

Right now the puppy is asleep on my lap, I have a fresh cup of coffee and my 17 year old dd put some cookies in the oven so I'm waiting on those.

She made these: http://thepioneerwoman.com/cooking/2007/09/marlboro_mans_favorite_cookies_oatmeal_crispies/

Yummy. I love crispie oatmeal cookies. Can't wait till they are done. I think I smell them coming out of the oven now.

Ummm... yummmm... that was a good cookie.

Now that I'm done stuffing my face. Time to update.

Nothing new here. We changed realtors at the beginning of the month, they came and did a virtual tour for online (if you're a long time friend of mine and would like to see it, email me at pietrastodo(AT)gmail.com and I'll send you the link!) The realtor seems very good, but alas, still nothing new. We have one week to sell this house before we, once again, have to either renew the offer with the house we are wanting to buy, or give up for the winter.

Moving 5 horses through the rocky mountains is just not a smart plan, so we may just remove it from the market until Feb. 1st, once again. Blah. I hate the thought of doing that, but if we did sell during the winter, we have to realise if our horse mover ran into bad weather, it's not like he can pull over into a motel for the night. You know? Those horses have to be taken care of and that's just not a risk we can take.

So we're trying to decide if we should just take it off the market at the end of this month, or give it just a couple of more weeks. I'm to the point now where I'm tired of living in a 'glass house' and I just want to pull out a couple of bookshelves, pull out my homeschool books and arts and craft stuff, and start living life normally again. I'm ready for a break and now that we have the cabin completed, we have more space to live in and I'm not feeling so down about being here yet another year. My ONLY big complaint is that if we're here another winter, we STILL don't know when we'd sell. We'd still be in limbo for another spring, possibly summer... fall? Who knows.

I also really don't want to loose that house/farm that we've got the offer in on. I'd be so sad if we lost it. I do trust that something just as good, or better would come along, but it just really does seem so perfect for our family. I hate the thought of those sellers having to wait a whole winter to sell, but on the other hand, I do hope it's still waiting for us by the time we do finally sell.

Wow, these cookies really are yummy. Did I mention that already? lol

Weeks and weeks ago, I decided to go on a 'no junk food' fast until our house sold, or we took it off the market. Well I've now lost 19 pounds. LOL I guess that's the benefit of fasting from something like junk food huh? I guess one might wonder why I'm eating cookies then, but to me, home baked goodies are NOT junk food. When I think of true junkfood, I mean chocolate bars, chips, candy, processed junk. So far, I've done really well. I haven't had any chocolate, except in homemade chocolate chip cookies, and even then, I've passed on them quite often. My dd makes them at least weekly. lol I probably only eat a couple every two weeks though. Thankfully, I'm just not craving a lot of junk.

Now if I had to fast from coffee????? THAT would be a whole nother story mr....
I don't even dare to think I'm that strong. I may have proven to myself that I have some will power, removing the junk food from my 'diet', but I don't have THAT much will power. LOL

Oh, I have caved a couple of times. I did have about 10 cheezies one night. I just could NOT help myself! The kids wanted me to open their bag of cheezies (no one wants to fast with me, how RUDE!   and it was over powering. I had to have some. lol

I've also had a few gumballs. I had two molars removed last December and had not had any gum at all since then. I finally got the urge to have some bubblegum a few days ago and I've had about 20 little gumballs over the last few days. LOL Tsk tsk...

So that's life right now. Pup sleeping on my lap, dd's making cookies, fasting, house still not selling, me dreaming of moving yet wishing we could take the house off the market and just live life for a while.

My younger sister got married this weekend and we had lots of fun catching up with relatives, even 3 aunts and a cousin from Holland! All fourteen grandchildren were there, so we got some pictures of all of them with Oma and Opa. The wedding went really well, and the reception was a blast! We had to leave early because of our pets & horses, as the wedding was over 2 hours away, but it was a good day non-the-less and we all really enjoyed ourselves.

Oh, and we celebrated EIGHTEEN years of marriage yesterday.

Here's my dashing hubby at the reception on Saturday night. He's as sexy now, as he was 18 years ago.
